Full-length silver gowns, faux-fur halter tops, and androgynous creations were only a few examples of the original designs created by the high school seniors for the show, held on the campus of Putnam |Northern Westchester BOCES.

This year’s show, entitled "Fame and Fashion," featured original designs inspired by the students’ favorite celebrities. The show boasted live runway models; music, sound, and video of each designer’s story provided by students in the Video Film production program; and professionally designed cakes provided by Culinary Arts students for the reception.

Arianna Kingswood was making some final fashion adjustments moments before sending her 19 models down the runway.

“I’m very excited,” she said. “And stressed! It’s been intense getting everything together for tonight.”

The Hendrick Hudson High School senior said deceased singer Aaliyah inspired her creations.

“I was thinking of what she would be inspiring in fashion if she were still here," said Kingswood.

Genesis Mercedes from Carmel chose Jennifer Lopez as her inspiration, creating a romper as one of her designs.

“I chose her because she’s one of a kind,” said Mercedes.

Nayvia Tukes, from Ossining, used Rihanna for her inspiration.

“I love her style, because she is everything — boyish, rocking, elegant—everything,” said Tukes.

Among her designs was a halter top and silk pants.

Gabriella Petrillo from Carmel used One Direction as inspiration for her designs.

“Since they are all boys, I wanted to turn their style into something girls could wear as well,” Petrillo said.

For Alex Carrasquillo from Lakeland, Taylor Swift served as inspiration for her designs, which included a long silver dress.

Jennifer Salamanca from Mahopac used model Gigi Hadid as her inspiration.

After the show Briana Iamiceli from Lakeland was visibly relieved that everything had gone smoothly. She used Kim Kardashian as inspiration for her designs.

“I loved the whole thing, it was really fun. Definitely worth all the effort," Iamceli said.Read more at:one shoulder formal dresses
